Liz Nehdi designs offer a spectacular expression of bold, invigorating colours, hypnotic patterns and gestural, painterly prints that are layered with meaning. These are complemented by the finest craftsmanship and luxurious textiles to create playful, distinctive and soulful accessories with an artistic heritage. Our brand aims to introduce a way of life that celebrates fun, creative expression, optimism, and the beautiful complexities of the global village in which we all live. The inaugural Spring/Summer 2015 collection of scarves and pocket squares draws from Liz’s inspirations as a painter, interpreting and distilling creative traditions from around the globe – from abstract expressionism, art naïf and aboriginal dot paintings to graffiti, Berber patterns, and psychedelia.

Fresh Picks 4

Fresh Picks 4 collage by Liz Nehdi. Image credits below

Can you believe that it’s the last day of April? I cannot. But it's a perfect spring day, and I have no complaints. I'd like to see off April and welcome in May than with my fourth installment of “Fresh Picks,” which is a showcase of the work of surface pattern designers who I’ve connected with online.

This week I’ve created a spring-themed collage of purples and blues out of the work of these seven talented designers: Cristina Bartl, Maria Giannakakis, Irina Kaygorodova, Shayne Sackie-Richards, Sophie Saunders of Sophie Darling, Sophie Webb and Zoe Wodarz.

I’ve really enjoyed taking a look at their work and I hope you do too!

Get in my Closet: Spring Edition

Liz Nehdi

What Liz Nehdi will be wearing this spring. Image credits below

Spring has arrived in London and I’m now enjoying near-daily walks in Holland Park amongst the blooming flowers and trees, the peacocks and a smattering of tourists. Since moving here nearly 3 years ago I’ve learned that it’s essential to wear lots of layers, as it’s likely you’ll experience two (sometimes three) seasons within the span of a single day. This is especially true of the spring. So while the sun reflects off of all the pastel facades in Notting Hill and the breeze tickles the tulips lining the streets, I won’t be surprised to find myself needing to wrap up in multiple layers (including a waterproof one).

So as I dream of the flimsy sundresses and swimsuits to come, here’s what I’ll actually be wearing for the next month or so. Scroll down to see large individual images from the collage, as well as image credits.

Which of these looks will you wear this spring?

Slouchy ikat capris with a T shirt and cardigan via Nasty Gal

Floral blazer with white button up and neutral trousers via The Fox and She

Black and white print dress and hot pink clutch from Boden via DustJacket Attic

Yellow coat with print dress via Lovely Pepa

Peach T shirt with leopard print trousers and cobalt strappy sandals via Betty Barclay. Love this colour and print combo so much. The model’s loose, beachy waves are one of my favourite hairstyles as well

Three quarter sleeved blue print dress with neon green purse via Kayture

Black skinny jeans with a white button down, black blazer, bohemian scarf and black Converse via Maja Wyh. When I need to get out of the door quickly, this is my go-to combination

Green slouchy trousers and a T shirt via Lauren Conrad. My slouchy green trousers from Splendid are olive green with zipper slits up the side. And if you are a shorty like me, they are full-length! Highly recommended

I love, love, love this mix of neutral textures from Side Walk Ready

Liz Nehdi's collage of work by Maureen Lyttle, Kimberly Schmidt, Susanne Kasielke, Patrick Moriarty + Lisa Quick

Today I’m thrilled to feature the work of several talented textile designers that I’ve ‘met’ online: Maureen Lyttle, Kimberly Schmidt, Susanne Kasielke, Patrick Moriarty and Lisa Quick.

One of the beauties of living in a digital age is that you can connect with like-minded people from all over the world. I’m an avid user of Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram (I’d love it if you’d follow me if you haven’t already!) and recently I’ve joined several textile design related groups on LinkedIn, which is where I met these lovely folks.

I had so many wonderful submissions for this post that I’m going to need to turn it into a series, so stay tuned for those! If you’d like to be considered for a future collage, please see the details at the end of this post.
